This beginner web design course introduces students to industry-standard practices for design, layout, and information organization for modern websites. The course guides students through a set of hands-on tutorials to build a basic multi-page website using HTML and CSS.


This course is designed to engage students in the BC Environmental Science 12 curriculum. The primary focus of this course will be built on the curricular Big Ideas, Curricular Competencies, and Content. The following Big Ideas make up the units of learning that students will explore throughout this course.

1. Human actions affect the quality of water and its ability to sustain life.

2. Human activities cause changes in the global climate system.

3. Sustainable land use is essential to meet the needs of a growing population.

4. Living sustainably supports the well-being of self, community, and Earth.

Throughout the course, students will critically explore and evaluate current issues in the field of environmental science that are of personal, local, and global interest. An emphasis throughout this course will be effective communication of scientific data and information.
